Why Horror? Why Now?
Horror is one of the fastest growing genres in the industry, as indicated by the rise in success of movies such as Sinners, Weapons, Obsession, and Backrooms. The industry is eager for new concepts, audiences want to see original ideas and movies that will scare them. Horror is the safest place to explore day to day fears and leave theaters with a “hey it could be worse” attitude. Horror is an extremely profitable genre due to lower cost budgets that meet a high demand.
Horror has often been praised for its creativity within its lower budget. Movies such as the first Paranormal Activity, The Blair Witch Project, and now Obsession, were low budgets that made incredible profits. Creativity flourishes within these low budget horror movies and shows the industry just how much people will seek a scare. Unlimited Studios recognizes the profitability, creativity, and opportunity that stems from this genre. Now is the perfect time to make a horror movie in New Jersey.
WHERE
New Jersey has so much to offer when it comes to horror, creepy ghost stories and suburban tales, cryptids, and long standing history with the land. All of these things make Jersey the perfect place to film a brand new horror movie. The Unlimited Studios team wants their first New Jersey production to be a Horror film. This also provides New Jersey residents a chance to show the world the talent that is located in their home state.

This is where you, the reader, come in.
We want to read your horror stories. We are opening script submission to give everyone the opportunity to be seen; for new creative and original ideas that would otherwise not be seen. We are extremely excited to see what creativity has not yet been discovered.

We want you to be a part of the creative process throughout all of it, helping make changes, rewrites, and help with creative direction.”

3 rounds of submissions
ROUND ONE
July 27 — August 24
Fill out our Google Form. Our team will read through your submissions and determine which scripts to read based on your one-pager.
ROUND TWO
August 24 — September 7
If your one-pager is selected, you will receive an email that includes a link to another Google Form where you will submit your script.
ROUND THREE
September 7 — October 12
Once our team has received and reviewed your scripts, we will pick three finalists. These three finalists will have a recorded interview with the Unlimited Studios team. Finalists will share Pitch Decks, creative discussion with the team, etc.
